James Dew Hall (pronounced doo-hawl, unhyphenated) is an eletric, passionate, respectful, and collaborative filmmaker, freelance editor, and freelance sound designer and production sound mixer and operator, specializing in enhancing narrative and commercial storytelling to effectively engage target audiences.His interest in filmmaking originated in the 2010s through writing short stories, producing and performing in YouTube skits, and engaging in music production. He gained experience as a Boom Operator and Sound Utility on a feature film produced by Indie Rights, served as a Production Assistant on a miniseries produced by Little Bird Productions & Weather System Studios, and his college final-year editing project was selected for the James River Film Festival.Work from his filmography has been featured at the Afrikana Film Festival and at Virginia Commonwealth University's Cinema program as a Writer, Director, and editor.His core objective is to create independent films that positively challenge, entertain, and impact lives across the world, connect with fellow creatives, and contribute to their projects as a dedicated remote editor and sound designer, in addition to on-site roles such as Director, Production Sound Mixer, Grip, and Production Assistant.

These are my personal short films as a writer-director, created to develop my craft, style, interests, and eye for visual storytelling. Making these films heightened my sense of style and stories I wanted to tell, and how I wanted to tell them. These films are classic genre pieces with abstract, whimsical, and dream-like characters and approaches that examine themes of human empathy, forgiveness, creativity, and mental health, helping others while entertaining. KID EYE Media, my production company, specializes in narrative films, music videos, and promotional material. The name stands for seeing the world through a childlike lens with experimentation and playful ways of creating and sharing fun with others. I handle the production of all booked projects. It is currently being developed into a distribution company for productions.
